Brazilian forward Neymar will not be featuring for Paris St-Germain in their opening Ligue 1 fixture, as he looks set to leave the French capital. The French side has suggested that the Brazilian could soon be on the move. Neymar joined PSG from Barcelona for a record-breaking deal in 2017.

Paris Saint-Germain, had reportedly agreed to pay the €222 million release clause fee to acquire Neymar from the Spanish giants. Since then, Neymar has shone with this performance for the club. But a series of injuries and lack of quality competition has made the player believe that his growth is being hampered.

He has recently said that his greatest moment as a player was when he helped Barcelona come back from a 4-0 defeat against PSG in 2017. Leonardo, PSG's sporting director, has claimed that the 27-year-old's exit has become  "more advanced than before".

However, he has also said that the club is not yet ready to give their approval to a transfer. Apparently, the meteoric rise of Kylian Mbappe has also affected Neymar, and he believes that the French world cup winner is casting a shadow on his popularity.

There is no doubt regarding Neymar’s footballing prowess. Despite being affected by injury, the former Santos player has scored 34 league goals in two seasons for the Ligue 1 champions. PSG's coach Thomas Tuchel said that Neymar took part in training on Saturday, but was not hundred percent fit. Neymar’s next stop is unclear, while links to Real Madrid and Barcelona keep doing the rounds.
