Reports | Manchester United's bid for wonderkid Dani Olmo rejected

Manchester United reportedly had a bid rejected for Dani Olmo this transfer window. A number of clubs were interested in signing the Dinamo Zagreb winger this summer, and United were keen on him as well. The Spain Under-21 star was among a host of attacking players who were linked to Old Trafford.

Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti has reported that Manchester United reportedly made a £24m bid for Dani Olmo, but was unsuccessful in luring the player to Manchester as the bid was immediately rejected by Dinamo Zagreb. The Red Devils were tipped to make a few deadline day signings, but the club refused to splash money on players after already heavily spending by Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

They were linked with moves to Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and even Inaki Williams but walked away from all three deals due to various issues. But reports in Croatia suggest Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did try to bring Olmo to Old Trafford, with the young attacker fitting Solskjaer's criteria. The Spaniard is a very versatile plaayer and can play as either a winger or an attacking midfielder, with his preferred role the latter.

However, United were not the only ones who have been interested in the Spanish U-21 player, with Everton and Bayern Munich having had bids turned down by Zagred as well. The Croatian side is working very hard to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League and believe that the 21-year-old Spaniard will help them do just that. However, any potential move for the youngster cannot be ruled out, even though Zagreb are keen on tying him down to a brand new contract.
