Daniel Vettori has named Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel as the four players Royal Challengers Bangalore should retain for the upcoming IPL season. Vettori further added that RCB are able to avoid a dilemma in retention choices with the retirement of AB de Villiers.

Irfan Pathan has named four players who he feels Sunrisers Hyderabad should retain ahead of the IPL 2021 auctions. Pathan named current skipper Kane Williamson, Rashid Khan and young guns Umran Malik and Abdul Samad as his top picks for players who should continue to be part of the franchise.

David Warner attributed his T20 World Cup 2021 success to extreme hard work, and was glad to have got an opportunity, after being sacked as Sunrisers Hyderabad captain and being dropped from playing XI during IPL 2021. Warner aggregated  289 runs at 48.17 in Australia’s victorious T20 WC campaign.

Yuzvendra Chahal stated that he was down for two-three days, and felt really bad when selectors overlooked him for India’s T20 World Cup 2021 campaign. Chahal had excelled for RCB during the IPL 2021 second leg with 14 wickets from eight matches, but was overlooked in the revised 15-member squad.
