Arshdeep Singh Enters Unwanted List With 100 Plus Wides in T20Is

When we talk about Arshdeep Singh, his greatness with the ball in the shortest format is always mentioned. But with every great player, there also comes some unwanted records where you will find their name. This was not the case with Arshdeep Singh a few months back, but it has been now.

With the T20 World Cup going on, Arshdeep Singh has struggled a bit with the line, which has resulted in him bowling a lot of extras. Due to this reason, Arshdeep Singh now joins the . Along with him, there is only one other Indian bowler on the list, Hardik Pandya.

Arshdeep Singh made his debut in 2022, and in just a few years, he has achieved things which many veterans waited to achieve. He is now India's highest wicket-taker in the T20I format, as he currently holds 126 wickets for the team in 82 matches. With his debut coming back in 2022, he has also played three T20 World Cup editions for the team.

This made him tie up with Naveen-ul-Haq in the record of longest over in T20Is by a full member nation.

The only Indian player who stands above Arshdeep Singh in this list is the all-rounder, Hardik Pandya. He has been known for his contributions with both bat and ball. If he fails from one, he does well with the other. In the T20Is, he has bowled a total of 110 wides in 2177 balls. This is far more than the total ball bowled by Arshdeep Singh in his career.

Even in the T20 World Cup 2026, he has done well for the team with both bat and ball. In the clash against Zimbabwe, he contributed with the bat as a finisher, scoring 50 runs in the death overs of the game. Previously in the clash against Pakistan, he was able to take 2 crucial wickets which helped India to get a massive win.

His dominance against the arch rivals Pakistan remains unmatched. He has now been India's highest wicket-taker in the T20Is against Pakistan. Along with that, his contributions with the bat do play a crucial role for the Indian team in critical situations. He also holds a place in the top three of the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings.
