Players often find themselves under intense scrutiny due to lacklustre performances, but there are moments when they seize the chance to silence their detractors. Such was the case with Shubman Gill where he delivered a remarkable century against Bangladesh that left his critics shut.

‌In their quest to make a mark in the WTC cycle, India showcased their exceptional batting prowess, led by Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill, both of whom notched impressive half-centuries. With a commanding lead of over 450 runs, Pant shone brightly, reaching his century off just 124 balls. The crowd erupted in delight as the scoreboard read 229/3 in 55 overs. Gill stepped forward and elegantly flicked the ball to the mid-wicket region, sprinting for a single that brought him to his hundred in 161 deliveries. After completing the run, he removed his helmet and celebrated with his signature bow to the Chepauk crowd. He received a warm embrace from KL Rahul, acknowledging his remarkable achievement. The Chennai crowd responded with a standing ovation, while the Twitterverse buzzed with praise for Gill’s outstanding performance.
