Nothing compares to the spectacle of a bowler unleashing a fiery delivery to dismiss a star batter. Jason Holder executed such brilliance on the first day of the Test match between South Africa and the West Indies, delivering a remarkable ball that shattered Aiden Markram's off stump.

The red-ball cricket commenced in the Caribbean islands with South Africa taking on the West Indies at Port of Spain. Proteas captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and chose to bat first sending Aiden Markram and Tony de Zorzi to open the innings. The Caribbean pace duo of Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales bowled superbly with the new ball, restricting the visitors to 14/0 in seven overs. Just as the openers seemed to be settling in, Jason Holder broke the stand by dismissing Markram on his very first delivery.

Bowling the first ball of the 14th over, Holder came over the wicket and delivered a good-length ball. The Proteas white ball skipper misjudged the line as the ball nipped back into him, targeting the off stump. Attempting to defend on the back foot, Markram missed the ball completely which then pierced through the gap of bat and pad, and crashed into the off stump. A disheartened Markram walked back to the pavilion as the West Indies players celebrated the crucial wicket with the stump cartwheeling. Witnessing Holder’s stunning delivery, fans on Twitter also expressed their excitement.
