VIDEO | After Azhar Ali, Jake Doram provides yet another run out gaffe by colliding with his own teammate
It seems as if there's something in the air when it comes to shambolic running between the wickets at the moment as was evident in the Azhar Ali case in Dubai yesterday. This time it was Tasmania batsman Jake Doram, who was involved in a run-out along with teammate Matthew Wade, at the Gabba today.
On Day 3 of the second Test between Pakistan and Australia, Pakistan’s Azhar Ali got run out in the most humorous manner after he thought that the ball he hit went for a boundary. Ali was the brunt of jokes on social media ever since that incident it has led to a domino effect in the cricketing world with other similar run-outs across the globe.
This time, it was Sheffield Shield in Australia where there was a collision between two Tasmanian batsmen resulted in a run out that was nearly as embarrassing as Ali's. With Queensland's Mitchell Swepson bowling on Day 3 of the clash at the Gabba, Matthew Wade cut the ball square of the wicket.
While the Tasmanian duo attempted to complete a quick single, Wade collided with his batting partner Jake Doran midway. However, the pair nearly recovered from the stumble to complete the single, but a brilliant direct hit from Bulls' fielder Sam Heazlett had Doran dismissed after he scored just 11.
It's been a big day for bizarre run-outs! How's this from the JLT action at the Gabba...
