At Stage 3 of the Archery World Cup 2022 in Paris, France, Indian archer Deepika Kumari teamed up with Ankita Bhakat and Simranjeet Kaur to take home the silver medal in the women's recurve team event. The Indian team was unable to match the steadiness of their opponents and lost the match 5-1.

Recurve archers from India, who had a dreadful qualifying round in the women's competition, came back impressively to go to the final on Thursday, securing their first medal in the current World Cup Stage 3. Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat, and Simranjeet Kaur defeated Turkey, Britain, and Ukraine.

Archer Deepika Kumari and her husband Atanu Das failed to impress once again as they lost their respective bronze medal matches at the 2021 Archery World Cup in Yankton, USA. This performance comes after a lacklustre showing in Tokyo, where the duo had failed to win a medal in the recurve event.

The Indian Archery Team will miss out on the upcoming World Cup Stage 2, in Lausanne, after the Swiss Embassy rejected to issue the athletes short-term visas, owing to the travel ban imposed on Indian travellers to the country. So far, four India archers have qualified for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
