India win Gold in the men’s 10m air pistol at 2018 FISA World Championship
The Indian shooting team, that traveled to Kuala Lumpur, have managed to secure Gold in the men’s 10m air pistol at the FISA World University Shooting Sport Championship. Promising Indian shooters Meghana Sajjanar and Elavenil Valarivan won bronze in the 10m air rifle individual competition.
Lately, the Indian shooting contingent, spread across the various categories, has made waves as they bagged accolades all around the globe for their impressive displays on the field. At the recently concluded ISSF World Cup in Mexico, India ended up at the top of the medal tally in the entirety of the tournament. A major credit went to young shooters like Manu
The Indian shooting contingent continued their impressive run at the ongoing FISA World Championship, which was held in Kuala Lumpur. The men’s team consisted of Anmol Jain, Achal Pratap Singh Grewal and Nishant Sindhu who managed to shoot a score of 1725 en route to the Gold medal.
Amongst other Indian participants, Indian shooters Meghana Sajjanar and Elavenil Valarivan won the Bronze and Silver medals respectively in the 10m air rifle individual competition. Bangalore-born Meghana, became the first woman from Karnataka to make it to the national senior shooting team for last year’s ISSF World Cup.

The FISA World Championship began on March 14 and will go for the next two days with various events left to compete in.
