Sultan Azlan Shah Cup News

After a two-year hiatus, the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, an annual invitation-only international men's hockey competition, will return in November of this year. Due to COVID, the famous competition was not held in the previous two years; South Korea had won the previous title, while India ended second.

India hockey skipper Mandeep Singh has stated that the team has worked collectively towards making more circle penetrations, getting more shots on target and regaining possession quickly. He also said that the side has learnt a lot from their 1-1 draw against Korea and are minimizing errors.

India has now moved to the top of the table in the ongoing Sultan Azlan Shah Cup after defeating Canada by a huge margin of 7-3 goals in Ipoh, Malaysia. India is unbeaten in the tournament so far with three wins and one draw from the four matches that they have played in the tournament.
