Ravichandran Ashwin has been talking about the performances of Matthew Short. On this, a Twitter user reacted by saying it would be intense if Short drops Ashwin from the team in Major League Cricket. However, Ashwin ensured that his comment didn't go unnoticed.

In the IPL 2026, Ravichandran Ashwin has talked a lot about the individual player performances. One player who has been highlighted by him the most is Matthew Short, who plays for Chennai Super Kings. In the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad, CSK went for Matthew Short in place of Akeal Hosein, which made Ashwin question the same.
Over his allegations, a Twitter user recently reacted. He said that it would be interesting if Ashwin is dropped from the playing XI by Matt Short in Major League Cricket. With Ashwin retiring from the IPL, he has focused on participating in the other T20 leagues, such as the MLC, where Short is his captain.
As if i am worried about playing every game at this stage of my career🤣🤣🤣

Secondly, Trash talking or making a personal remark is not my style.
Whatever you see on X suggesting i have gone against someone is purely false and if u are ever interested in seeing what i said, pls…
Ashwin replied to the tweet in the most savage way possible. He clearly mentioned that at this stage of his career, he won't mind if he gets dropped from the team. Moreover, he denied the allegations of trash talking or him talking against Matthew Short. His talks were against the decision of playing Short in place of Hosein, where Hosein could have been a better option.
Our Take
Ashwin has used some strong words to talk about the claims made by the fans. He also mentioned that he loves talking about the game and is not involved in trash talking. While Matthew Short is the captain of Ashwin's team in Major League Cricket, he would do what's best for the team, and not drop Ashwin due to the comments he made during the IPL.
