WATCH | Gautam Gambhir teases Virat Kohli about on-field altercations and puts an end to all ‘masala’
Known for their rivalry both on and off the field, an interview released by BCCI featuring Indian Head Coach Gautam and Virat Kohli finally went viral. Both of them spoke about their memorable previous performances in the interview, although Gambhir made a joke about Kohli's on-field altercations.
Gambhir emphasized Kohli's outstanding tons at the 2014 Border Gavaskar Trophy, expressing amazement at his performance. The Indian head coach expressed his admiration for Kohli's batting ability after watching him amass massive runs in Australia. Even Gautam remembered his famous innings in Napier against New Zealand, when he smashed 137 in 436 balls, saying he could never have batted for as long as Kohli did.
The funniest thing, though, was when they attempted to pull each other's legs during on-field altercations. Kohli questioned Gambhir about how the pressure from the opposition and on-field remarks had either motivated him or ultimately caused him to get out. However, Gambhir attempted to play a lighthearted jab by telling Kohli that he had far more on-field altercations than he had. The former captain of India couldn't help but chuckle and nod in agreement. He said, “ Main to ye dhoondh raha hun ki koi meri baat se agree kar jaye. Ye nahi bol raha ki galat hai. Koi to bole haan, yahi hota hai (I am only looking for someone who agrees with what I have to say. Not saying that it is wrong. At least someone should say, yes this is what happens).
Kohli appeared relieved at last in the teaser, saying that they had both come a long way and that the interview would put an end to all of the "masala" (gossip).
The Camaraderie!
A Very Special Interview 🙌
