Australia defeated Scotland by 70 runs in the second T20I at Edinburgh, securing a 2-0 lead in the series. Josh Inglis led Australiaā€™s batting with a century, guiding them to 196/4 in their 20 overs while Brandon McMullen's impressive innings was overshadowed by Australia's pace and spin attack.

ā€ŒAustralia had a disastrous start after being asked to bat first. Travis Head, who had shone in the previous match, was dismissed for a golden duck. The struggles continued when Jake Fraser-McGurk fell in the fourth over without making an impact. However, the tide turned for the Aussies when Josh Inglis and Cameron Green came together. Inglis took charge while Green offered solid support, building a crucial 92-run partnership. Inglisā€™ explosive innings saw him reach his second T20I century off just 43 balls, with the score at 176/3 in 18 overs. Tim David added a quick-fire cameo smashing 17 off 7 balls, pushing Australia to a competitive total of 196/4 in their 20 overs.

In reply, Scotland got off to a flying start, hammering 17 runs in the first over bowled by Xavier Bartlett. However, the momentum was short-lived as Aaron Hardie and Bartlett struck in quick succession to remove Michael Jones and George Munsey. Brandon McMullen and Richie Berrington steadied things briefly, taking Scotland to 37/2 after five overs. Just before the end of the powerplay, Marcus Stoinis dismissed Berrington, bringing Charlie Tear to the crease. The pressure mounted further when Adam Zampa sent Tear packing. McMullen, however, stood firm and played a brilliant innings, reaching a half-century off 36 balls. But his valiant effort was cut short by Sean Abbott in the 13th over. With 90 runs required from 42 balls and the last recognized batting pair of Michael Leask and Mark Watt at the crease, Scotlandā€™s hopes dimmed. Watt and Christopher Soleā€™s dismissal in the 15th over left the hosts reeling at 115/8, sealing the match in Australiaā€™s favour. Ultimately, the hosts were bundled out for 126 runs as Australia won the game by 70 runs and clinching the series three-match series.Ā
