In the Group C clash between West Indies and Papua New Guinea, Roston Chase executed a magnificent dive culminating in a stunning catch to dismiss the PNG skipper.

‌A packed Guyana eagerly awaited the commencement of the much-anticipated ICC T20 World Cup, with co-hosts West Indies facing Papua New Guinea. Windies skipper Rovman Powell won the toss and elected to field first, a decision that quickly paid dividends. PNG openers Assad Vala and Tony Ura had a shaky start, with Ura departing in the second over. The trouble continued as Lega Siaka fell in the third over, leaving the score at 10/2 after three overs. However, their skipper Vala switched gears and smacked 11 runs off the fifth over, providing a glimmer of hope. Unfortunately, his resurgence was short-lived as Alzarri Joseph dismissed him in the sixth over.

On the last ball of that over, Alzarri delivered a short-of-a-length ball across off to Vala. The PNG skipper judged the line well and struck it hard. The ball soared towards backward point, where Roston Chase was stationed. Chase moved swiftly to his left and executed a perfect dive, managing to grasp the catch with both hands.
