‌There is no greater joy for a batter than scoring their first runs in international cricket, especially with a six. Something similar unfolded at Harare Sports Club, where India faced Zimbabwe and Abhishek Sharma hit his first international runs with a massive six off Brian Bennett.

India had a rough start to their Zimbabwe tour losing the first T20I game by 13 runs. Indian skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bat first on a dry Harare pitch, aiming to capitalise on the batting conditions. India opened with Gill and Abhishek as Bennet began proceedings with the new ball for Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, India got off to a cracking start, with Sharma scoring his first runs with a big six.

On the second ball of the first over, Bennet bowled a 91 kmph half-tracker onto the stumps to the Sunrisers Hyderabad opener. Sharma waited for the ball to approach and timed it perfectly sending it over backward square leg for a massive six. After the shot, Sharma, visibly relieved, shared a smile and a brief fist pump with his Punjab counterpart, sparking excitement on Twitter.
