In cricket, records are constantly being set and shattered but some stand out as true feats of excellence in specific corners of the globe. Such was the case in the match between Vanuatu and Samoa where Darius Visser made history by breaking the record for most runs scored in a single over in T20I.

‌Choosing to bat first on a dry day in Samoa's capital turned out to be a costly decision for their skipper Caleb Jasmat. The team suffered an early top-order collapse losing Sean Cotter and Solomon Nash in the first two overs. The situation worsened when Daniel Burgess fell cheaply leaving the scoreboard at a precarious 14/3 after four overs. With Saumani Tiai’s dismissal, all hopes rested on Darius Visser to steer Samoa’s innings forward. In just a few overs, he not only stabilized the innings but also made history in the 15th over, putting Samoa in a much stronger position.

As Nalin Nipiko prepared to bowl the 15th over, Samoa was struggling at 77/5 and the pressure was on Visser to deliver big. Nipiko's first ball was a short-of-a-length delivery outside the off stump which was expertly judged by Visser as he moved slightly across and sent the ball sailing over mid-wicket for six. The next two deliveries were similar and Visser punished both with towering sixes over the boundary.

Trying to regain control, Nipiko only made matters worse by bowling a no-ball on the fourth delivery which Visser mistimed and missed. On the ensuing free hit, the bowler bowled a full-length ball which Visser dispatched high over the square leg fence for another massive six. Nipiko's spirits were briefly lifted when he managed to bowl a dot ball on the fifth delivery but had no idea what was coming next. The final delivery of the over was a waist-high no-ball, which Visser capitalized on and smashed it over long leg for another huge six. Frustrated, Nipiko had to bowl yet another ball due to the free hit, and this time he delivered a wide full toss which the 28-year-old Visser sent soaring over the backward square leg fence.

With that final six, Visser shattered the record for the most runs scored in a single over in T20Is, amassing 39 runs. His extraordinary batting performance quickly became a sensation on social media, with Twitter buzzing about his unprecedented achievement.

Can this be compared to a Legend's hostory?
