Indian spinner Axar Patel is busy playing county cricket for Durham in England and in the recently concluded game against Warwickshire, he took the wicket of Ryan Sidebottom in a truly bizarre way. He picked up nine wickets in the game with the Sidebottom's dismissal being the most interesting one.

The Gujarat all-rounder is having a decent run in the ongoing county championship playing for Durham. Starting the county season on August 19, Patel scored an unbeaten 95 and claimed three wickets in his first game against Glamorgan. Although his performance against Northamptonshire was not upto the mark, he came back strong in the next game.

In the third game against Warwickshire, Patel took two in the first and seven in the second innings. He was bowling from round the wicket with right-handed  Sidebottom on strike and the Warwickshire side was nine down. Patel tossed it up and the number 11 tried to whip the ball towards square-leg. However, the ball went on to hit the helmet of the forward short-leg fielder and deflected towards Patel who accepted it gleefully to dismiss the Aussie tail-ender. They were bowled out for 199 and Patel ended with impressive figures of 7/54. The county game, which was played in Birmingham, ended in a draw.

With the Indian Test team playing in Test series against the Englishmen, the 24-year-old all-rounder is trying to get some experience from the English county. He has been selected in the Asia Cup squad and will join the national side in the United Arab Emirates for the 50-over tournament starting from September 15.
