ZIM vs PAK | Twitter reacts as Abbas Afridi's peach leaves Sikandar Raza statue-like with off-stump cartwheeling

The sound of stumps shattering is music to a bowler’s ears but a jarring shock to the batter, leaving him stunned. A similar moment unfolded during the second T20I between Zimbabwe and Pakistan when Abbas Afridi’s exquisite delivery clean-bowled Sikandar Raza, leaving him in sheer awe.

Openers Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani guided Zimbabwe to a steady 37/0 after four overs after the hosts won the toss. However, Abbas Afridi struck the first blow, removing Marumani in the fifth over. Bennett followed soon after, falling in the sixth over, leaving the Zimbabwean middle order rattled. By the end of the powerplay, Zimbabwe's score stood at 40/2, with Sikandar Raza and Dion Myers at the crease. But Raza’s stint was shortlived when Abbas Afridi scalped him in the seventh over.

On the second ball of the seventh over, Afridi bowled a short-of-length delivery targeting the stumps, getting it to skid off the surface. The ball stayed slightly low and since Raza sat back to push it behind the line, the all-rounder was beaten by the skidding low bounce. The white rock went on to hit the timber with the off-stump sending cartwheeling. Afridi was on fire as he dismissed the Zimbabwean skipper for a meager score. As the stumps were disturbed, Raza stood frozen in the crouched position for a moment, unable to comprehend what had just happened. It didn’t take long for the Twitterverse to buzz about Afridi’s sensational delivery.
