After being ruled out of their ongoing away tour of Australia with a back injury that has held him in rehab for over seven weeks, the 25-year-old was expected to make a comeback at the domestic level. Hasan was all set to feature in the ninth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for Central Punjab against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last week.
However, injury struck again, forcing him to pull out of the contest as he felt a sharp pain on the left rib. The pacer then underwent precautionary scans in Karachi which revealed fractures in the cortical rib. It is understood that the latest injury woe will now take six weeks to heal, with Hasan heading to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore to start his rehabilitation process.
After their second and final Test in Australia, Pakistan will return to their home country to host a nation for the first time in the longest format in over ten years.
