Twitter reacts to Rohit Sharma diving to steal Virat Kohli’s catch at first slip

When it comes to fielding, India stand tall as one of the best sides in the business. But in contrast to the common proverb “too many cooks spoil the broth”, it was the sharper cook among the two of India’s stalwarts - Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma - who produced the best serving on the table.

At the pre-match press conference, India skipper Virat Kohli has revealed that it would be rather challenging for fielders at the slips to grab the ball as it “hits your hand hard like a heavy hockey ball”. But such is India’s grasp over world-class fielding that Rohit Sharma’s catch was what became the highlight of the first session.

After having failed to get the right approach to the crease, change of ends did work for Umesh Yadav when he came back for his fourth over. The paceman bowled a good length delivery which angled across and straightened into the batsman Mominul Haque batting at zero, who was totally bamboozled and ended up edging thick towards the first slip. The ball may not have hit the off-stump had the Bangladesh skipper chose to leave it.

While Kohli was the one fielding at the first slip, Rohit from the second slip was alert enough to take a brave dive in front of the skipper and bag a one-handed stunner. Kohli’s ecstatic reaction to the catch was what perfectly defined the ‘amaze’ element of it.

Hitman suddenly turns to 'SUPERMAN'😍
