When you have a bad run in cricket, all it takes for you to find your mojo is a stunning catch or an important wicket to feel that surge of confidence flow back into your game. That’s exactly what happened for Ravindra Jadeja in today’s game after he picked up the crucial wicket of Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli & Co. have endured a tough season so far in the 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League as they find themselves sixth in the table with just three wins from eight matches. Kohli faced a difficult task today as he went up against his mentor in the form of the effervescent MS Dhoni and the rest of the yellow brigade at the MCA stadium in Pune.

Opener Parthiv Patel got the visitors off to a good start with the bat but that didn’t last for as Kiwi batsman Brendon McCullum was the first to depart after facing just three balls for five runs. This meant that Kohli would walk onto the pitch with a lot of responsibility on his shoulders in a crunch tie.

As predicted, Kohli was careful with his shot selection with an aim to play safe and stay on the crease as long as possible. But what happened next left the Delhi born batsman at loss for words. Dhoni introduced Kohli’s national team companion Ravindra Jadeja into the attack in a bid to unsettle the talented Kohli.

What a masterstroke that proved to be as Jadeja bowled a stunning delivery to clean-bowl Kohli which stunned the RCB skipper, who looked lost for words. However, Jadeja to the surprise of the Pune crowd did not celebrate and to a fan who would not have seen the ball hit the stumps, it would have appeared that he had missed the stumps.
