The hot summer air can bring up some intense emotions amongst players on the pitch in the ongoing IPL, and today’s match in Pune between RCB and CSK saw AB de Villiers lose his cool. Harbhajan Singh and MS Dhoni teamed up to dismiss de Villiers who while departed swung his bat at the wicket.

AB De Villiers has looked in good touch for the majority of this year’s Indian Premier League despite his team’s below-par performances on the pitch. However, the right-handed batsman was ruled out of RCB’s last two games after he picked up a viral infection along his travels.

With fellow compatriot Quinton de Kock unavailable for selection as he left for a wedding in South Africa, de Villiers made his long-awaited comeback to the RCB starting XI against Chennai Super Kings. After losing early wickets of Brendon McCullum and skipper Virat Kohli early in the match, the onus was on opener Parthiv Patel and de Villiers to lead the visitors to a good total.

At this crucial point in the game, CSK skipper MS Dhoni introduced veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh to the mix of things with an aim to put added pressure on the visitors. After being hit for a four off the first delivery of his spell, Harbhajan produced a stunner of a delivery which caught de Villiers, who attempted a reverse sweep, completely off guard as Dhoni collected the ball behind the wickets and dismissed the South African. De Villiers, who was dismissed after adding just one run to the score, was left fuming and even swung his bat at the stumps.
