Virat Kohli has been rewriting batting record over the last few years and will now become only the 13th Indian to reach a double century of One-day international appearances. All teams included, he will become the 72nd player in the history of ODI cricket to play 200 matches for his country.

Kohli will join the likes of Kapil Dev, Javagal Srinath, Anil Kumble, and Harbhajan Singh among others to represent his country on the biggest stage over two hundred times. He will need another century of appearances to catch up with Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, and MS Dhoni in the 300 caps club. The list is being led by Sachin Tendulkar with an astonishing 463 caps to his name.

Till date, Kohli has scored an enormous 8,767 runs in 191 innings at an average of 55.13 with 30 centuries and 45 half-centuries. His hundred count in ODIs is now at par with the legendary Ricky Ponting and is only behind Sachin Tendulkar's record tally of 49.

The Wankhede match has another record attached to it. If India will be able to win on Kohli's big day, it will be Men in Blue's 50th win over the Kiwis in ODIs. India have already achieved this feat against five other teams - Sri Lanka (88), West Indies (56), England (52), Pakistan (52), and Zimbabwe (51).
