Earlier, there was suspense over the hard-hitter Kaur’s fitness as she reportedly hurt her shoulder during a practice session on Saturday. Kaur scored an unbeaten 171 runs against Australia in the second semifinal of the ICC Women’s World Cup, which helped India book their spot for the final. But the team was worried when she was spotted with an icing on her shoulder. Even, ESPN Cricinfo’s cricket correspondent Melinda Farrell tweeted her picture.

This will be second time in the history of women’s World Cup when India will feature in final. Their last presence was back in 2005 under the captaincy of Mithali Raj when they lost to Australia by 98 runs. Mithali along with Jhulan Goswami are the only players from the 2005 final who are in the current squad.
