Harsh Goenka, the brother of Rising Pune Supergiant owner Sanjeev Goenka, seems to have extremely fickle views about MS Dhoni’s cricketing abilities. After Steve Smith's match-winning knock against Mumbai in the first game, Harsh Goenka, in a tweet, had claimed that current the RPS skipper had proved to Dhoni who 'the king of the jungle’ was. He then took another dig at Dhoni by tweeting a list of players of the Pune side who had the highest strike rates, which showed Dhoni in a lowly 5th position.
Yesterday, however, Dhoni played the perfect innings - one you would expect Dhoni to play. Having scored 25 off 22 balls, the former Indian captain unleashed the beast within scoring 36 runs off the next 12 balls to taking Rising Pune Supergiant to their second consecutive victory. Goenka quickly turned around his stance on the 2011 World Cup winning captain calling him the greatest finisher of the game.
Masterful innings by Dhoni. Great to see him back in form. Nobody can be a greater finisher. Takes to a nail-biting win.
— Harsh Goenka (@hvgoenka)
But if Goenka had thought he would turn around his image quickly, he was gravely mistaken. The Twitterati saw right through the hypocrisy and started bashing the 60-year-old after his tweet. The bashing was led by injured Mumbai Indians batsman, Ambati Rayudu who openly questioned Goenka for his tweet.
Great knock . Can some one plz gift a mirror to .
— Ambati Rayudu (@RayuduAmbati)
Many others on Twitter joined Rayudu in trolling Goenka by reminding him about the expected return of Chennai Super Kings at IPL 2018, with Dhoni expected to return to his former franchise.
why would anyone give a fuck about rps when csk comes in?😂😂
