Bajrang Punia might move to court after getting rejected from Khel Ratna Award
Wrestler Bajrang Punia has threatened to move to the court after he was rejected from the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. The union sports ministry has decided to present the biggest sporting award of the country to cricket captain Virat Kohli and star weightlifter Mirabai Chanu.
The wrestler has threatened to take legal action after he was ignored by the government for the highest award after he was earlier nominated for Khel Ratna by the Wrestling Federation of India. The Haryana man won gold medals in both Commonwealth Games and Asian Games this year boasting of an amazing record in men's 65kg freestyle.

Bajrang has his plans of meeting the sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Friday and would be trying to convince him. He has also been of the opinion that he deserves the award after doing so much for Indian sports in general and wrestling in particular.

"I had never imagined I won't get it this year. Look at my performance in the last 4 years. There was no point system earlier but with the point system in place now I feel I have the numbers behind me."
