However, the Indo-Swiss pair were broken in their first service game going down 0-2 in the second set. They were broken two more times as Makarova and Vesnina took the second set 6-2.

In the super tie-break, Sania and Hingis were set back by a margin of 3-6 soon, and they lost the tie-breaker 6-10 and with that, the match and their title.

Dominika Cibulková

Dominika Cibulková had earlier just managed to sneak into the semifinal after things fell in place for her with a straight sets win in her last match and Kerber's win in her own final group match.

The Slovakian once again sneaked through the door to the final today. Outmatched in the first set, Cibulkova lost 6 straight games to lose the set 1-6. However, she managed to keep up with Kuznetsova in the seconds set. The opponents traded three games apiece as they went to 6-6, but in the tie-break, Cibulkova surged ahead breaking her opponent thrice to win it 7-2.

In the third set, she was down 2-4 at one point, but broke back Kuznetsova to win the set 6-4 to march into the final. She will however, have a tough match in her hands against a marauding Angelique Kerber.

Angelique Kerber

Kerber demolished Agnieszka Radwańska 6-2, 6-1 to continue her unbeaten march into the final. The World No. 1 won the first set comfortably enough at 6-2. In the second, she lost her serve initially to allow Radwanska to draw par at 1-1, but then rattled off five straight games to win the match comfortably.
