Sindhu leads 14-9 now! It has been a fairly straightforward match for the Indian star expectantly!

Agrey is not going down without fighting. After Sindhu wins a couple of points, Agrey was quick to cut the deficit to 8-7. But, Sindhu eventually went into the break with 11-7.

Vincent is edging closer to the outcome now although Srikanth has reduced the deficit to just two points at 17-15!

Woah! Vincent has decided he is not going to be the second favourite today! After trailing 3-1, he has come and levelled 3-3. 

And Srikanth starts the match for us! He has already won a point!

Sai Praneeth increases his lead to 10 points! He leads 16-6 now!

Sai has gone into the break 11-4. A seven-point break would be difficult for Gulshan to cut down!

It looks like a home run for Sai here. He has won six consecutive points here leading 6-0 here!

Sai B Praneeth is leading 16-10 and although Gulshan Kumar is trying his best, the first game looks to have taken a lot from him. He has to conserve all for the decider now!

And Prannoy wins it! He breezes past Kantaphon 21-14 in the third game. That's as easy as it can get.

Kantaphon is trying to make a comeback here but Prannoy is keeping the lead intact. Both keep winning points alternatively with the serve changing hands! It is 16-14 to Prannoy now!

And Prannoy has started the stronger here after the break!
He has won four consecutive points to take a two-point lead! He leads 13-11.

And Prannoy looks to be trailing again!
All that intensity in the second game must have taken too much of a toll on the player as is evident as the Indian goes into the break trailing 9-11.

Prannoy comes from behind to level it 4-4! Kantaphon has got the much-needed breather in the second game!

Prannoy starts the decider now after levelling the match 1-1 with a 21-18 in the second game.

Prannoy leads the second game 20-18! This match is going to the decider!

It is 17-17 now! It is do or die for HS Prannoy now!

Kantaphon wouldn't want Prannoy to make a comeback here! The Indian could be very dangerous if given a second chance and the duo are levelled at 15-15 now.

After Kantaphon came back to reduce the three-point deficit to 9-8, Prannoy has opened a three-point lead again at 13-10!

HS Prannoy has lost the first game to Kantaphon Wangcharden 21-14. This could be a huge tournament for Prannoy who has struggled since returning from injury.

After a busy day of qualifiers where numerous India shuttlers battled it out to get into the main draw of the USD 350, 000 tournament, the first round had briefly started with not many major upsets for India. Today, however, would see the big guns like Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu taking the court.

Though India Open, this season, would be devoid of many stars after Japan decided to pull out of the tournament and Nehwal forced to sit out owing to medical reasons, fans would still get to see stars like Srikanth, Sindhu, Viktor Axelsen, Sameer Verma, Ashwini Ponappa, and more.

Moreoever, with numerous big names missing from the tournament, this would also be the perfect time for the struggling Indian shuttlers to get back into the winning habit with Malaysia Open just following it and they need to be at their best for it. Especially for the likes of Sindhu and Srikanth, who haven’t won of late and have seen shocking exits against not so good athletes.
