West Ham manager David Moyes has insisted that Declan Rice is not up for sale as he is a crucial player although admitted that a bid of £150 million would be the right amount to let the Englishman depart the London club. Rice is a reported transfer target for major European clubs this summer.

Declan Rice rose up through the ranks of the youth academy before making the breakthrough at senior level in the 2017/18 campaign. The English midfielder has developed rapidly to become one of the best defensive players in his position in the Premier League during his time at the London Stadium. Rice has made 183 appearances for the Hammers while scoring nine goals and nine assists across all competitions.

The midfielder’s defensive prowess and his impeccable passing range are additional weapons in his arsenal that make him one of the most coveted players in the upcoming summer as Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea have all been linked with making a move for the Englishman in the summer. However, David Moyes has shut down all speculation by suggesting that the West Ham vice-captain is not for sale.

The Scotsman also indicated that a bid of £150 million would be the asking price and revealed how the club is taking an example on how Harry Kane’s saga evolved in the past summer.

“The first thing to say is that he is not for sale. But if you are interested, it will be north of that, because £100m was cheap last summer and £150m just now would be minimum - but he is not for sale. I look at what Tottenham did with Harry Kane, albeit it in a different way,” Moyes told the BBC.

"They said, 'no, there is a price and if someone wants to pay the price, then we'd probably do it. If they don't then he's not going anywhere'. That's it, they have kept him. In many ways, the football clubs are the people in charge, they've got the contracts,” he added.
