Olympique Lyon sporting director Juninho has admitted that the club hasn’t received any offers as of yet for Houssem Aouar despite contact from Arsenal and Manchester City. The 22-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away after his performances for Lyon in the Champions League.

Few expected Olympique Lyon to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, with them facing Juventus and Manchester City along the way, but the French side did exactly that. However, while Bayern Munich proved to be a test too much for Rudi Garcia’s team, they produced a sensational run into the semi-finals which has since teams cast an eye on their players. The likes of Memphis Depay, Moussa Dembele, Houssem Aouar and a few others have all been linked with various moves away.

However, it’s Aouar that is on the most wanted list, with clubs from across Europe overly keen on a move for the 22-year-old. It has seen Arsenal and Manchester City make contact with Lyon although there is interest from Barcelona, Chelsea, PSG and a few Italian sides as well. But despite that, Juninho has admitted that the club has received no “official offers” for the Frenchman yet.

"I think that has been happening directly with agents. We were not directly contacted. Maybe Vincent Ponsot [director general] was contacted by Manchester City, I am not sure. It is like that with these two teams, two enormous teams who play to win the Champions League every year, they have the capacity for that and that makes any player dream,” Juninho told RMC Sport.

“I don't know if Houssem is ready to change project for a big Ligue 1 team like PSG. For City, of course Guardiola likes the player, but is that the profile that they are looking for today? We don't know that either and we have not received any official offers."
