Liverpool set to make late fitness call on Mohamed Salah
Liverpool will make a late call on Mohamed Salah’s fitness levels and whether or not the Egyptian forward can play against Manchester United. The former Chelsea star injured his ankle before the international break and was joined by Joel Matip who will undergo a later fitness test.
English news outlet Sky Sports has reported that Liverpool will take a late fitness call on Mohamed Salah ahead of Sunday’s trip to Old Trafford. The Reds are set to battle Manchester United and are looking for their 18 consecutive win, equalizing Manchester City’s record, but are concerned about both Salah’s and Joel Matip’s fitness. Both players were injured before the international break with Salah injuring his ankle against Leicester City and Matip out since a 1-0 win against Sheffield United.
But both men were set to make their return against the Red Devils after Reds boss Jurgen Klopp all but confirmed that. Yet a late report from Sky Sports has revealed that the club will make a late fitness call on both players. The German manager also revealed that Alisson Becker is back in action and will be in contention to start at Old Trafford. But with Divock Origi, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino fully fit, after a tough international break, reports have added that there is a chance that Salah will not be risked.
