Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho turned down an approach by Olympique Lyon's president Jean-Michel Aulas, following the exit of the Brazilian coach Sylvinho. Mourinho has been out of a job since he left Manchester United in December 2018, but has turned down several club offers during this period.

Jose Mourinho has, according to RMC via Maxifoot, turned down Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon's offer for a managerial position. The Portuguese, who's out of a job since he left Manchester United in 2018, continues to be wanted by many European clubs, but Mourinho refused all the approaches. Reports have revealed that the former Chelsea manager is looking to manage in England again with a potential move to Tottenham on the cards.

But, the Portuguese manager, who is a pundit for Sky Sport, has also rejected a move to Benfica and a highly lucrative move to the Chinese Super League. Lyon sacked the Brazillian coach Sylvinho last week, following the worst beginning of the season by the French club in the last 24 years. Sylvinho only managed to win 3 of the 11 matches Lyon played so far this season.  The Ligue 1 giant's president Jean-Michel Aulas is looking for options and Mourinho appeared amongst a list that also has Laurent Blanc and Jorge Samapoli.

Following the same reports, Lyon will select a coach within the next 48h, and Laurent Blanc has the edge to take over the club, as the former French international is without a club since he left Paris-Saint-Germain in 2016. Sampaoli is now under contract with the Brazillian club Santos, so the Argentinian is a difficult target to accept a challenge in the middle of his campaign at the Brasileirao.
