Confederations Cup | Chile and Germany share the spoils
World champions Germany and South American champions Chile played out a 1-1 draw at the Confederations Cup at Kazan Arena in Russia. Chile took the lead through Alexis Sanchez's record-breaking goal early in the first half but Germany earned a point through Lars Stindl’s finish in the 41st minute.
Sanchez wrote his name into the history books as his strike made him Chile's leading goal scorer. The Arsenal man claimed his 38th international goal in the seventh minute to eclipse the record set by Marcelo Salas, reaching the milestone on his 112th cap.

The result means both sides need only a point from their last remaining Group B fixtures to progress into the semifinals.
