IND vs NZ | Twitter in awe as Harshit Rana disturbs Devon Conway’s furniture with ripping delivery

‌KL Rahul hit a crucial hundred to take India out of a tricky position and finish at 284/7 in the second ODI against New Zealand in Rajkot on Wednesday. The wicketkeeper-batter remained unbeaten on 112 from 92 balls, while captain Shubman Gill hit a half-century, as India found its way out from 118/4 in the 24th over to end at a challenging total on a difficult surface.

The visitors started the chase on a positive note, with Devon Conway striking three boundaries in the first three overs from the Indian pace duo of Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana. The Kiwis were placed at 22/0 after five overs before Harshit delivered a killer blow to the Kiwis.

After surprising the Kiwi opener with a shortish and awkwardly bouncing delivery in his previous over, the young pacer went full in the second ball of his next to trap the uncertain-looking Conway. Coming from around the stumps, he angled one in at 140-plus kmph before the ball straightened a bit after pitching on a length.

Conway got a faint outside edge while trying to defend before the ball hit his back leg and crashed onto the off stump. Conway looked rushed with the Delhi pacer bowling at impressive speeds as the stump flew off and rolled away.

The pacer was quick to turn back to his skipper as though acknowledging some plan they had hatched to get rid of the veteran batter. Twitter was in awe of the Delhi pacer, who ended Conway’s innings for the second time this series.
