ENG vs IND | Twitter impressed as Gill and Pant help India set mammoth target for England

India ended day four of the second Test against England in Birmingham on a high, reducing the hosts to 72/3 in pursuit of a monumental 608. Shubman Gill scored his second century in the game while Rishabh Pant hit a quickfire half-century as India declared their second innings at 427/6.
However, Gill became the aggressor in the second session as he outscored his deputy to reach his 50 in just 57 balls with Pant following suit, to reach his half-century two overs later. India sat comfortably at 236/4 when the pair’s 110-run partnership was finally broken by Shoaib Bashir as he dismissed Pant for 65. Captain Gill scored his second century in the match on the cusp of tea as the lead swelled to 484.
India declared their innings at 427/6 soon after Shubman Gill got out for 161 after hitting 13 fours and eight sixes, setting England a target of 608 runs for an improbable win.
England started shakily in pursuit of a huge total, losing both openers within the fifth over with the score reading 30. Indian pacer Akash Deep castled big fish Joe Root as India sat in the driver’s seat at the end of proceedings with England struggling at 72/3 and still needing 536 runs for an improbable win.
