The saying goes that a wounded lion can be dangerous and highly aggressive when needed, and Rishabh Pant embodied this in the last session of the second day in Sydney. Taking on Mitchell Starc, Pant showcased his fearless approach by smashing two consecutive sixes, further extending India’s lead.

Pant reached 50 off just 29 balls, marking the second-fastest fifty for an Indian in Tests. On the very next delivery, Starc sprayed a length delivery angling in, and Pant, with similar authority, heaved it to deep square leg for another six. The SCG crowd was left silent in awe of Pant’s aggressive approach, and the Twitterverse quickly erupted, praising his fearless batting.
