Life is a circle of crests and troughs and often the bad days are highlighted by recurring errors. Rohit Sharma’s fate in the first ODI against England had a similar writing on the wall after he got out similar to that of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, extending his drought with the bat.

Winning the toss and batting first in Nagpur, the 75-run opening partnership coupled with half-centuries from Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell propelled England to 248 amidst disciplined Indian bowling. Eyeing to chase down the target in a two-paced wicket, as mentioned by Harshit Rana during the mid-match interview, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, the openers opted for a careful approach. Rohit got off the mark at the end of the fourth over before getting dismissed in a known fashion in the next over

The second ball of the sixth over saw Saqib Mahmood bowl a touch back of a length delivery into the abdomen of the right-hander. The white rock stuck to the surface and the Indian opener tried to whip at it. However, he was a tad early at the stroke and the ball came off the cue end, flying down to the safe hands of Liam Livingstone at mid on. Evidently, Rohit was seen dejected as he walked off the field nodding his head, sending the Twitterverse in guffaws.

Reckless Rohit!!

What shot is that?

No idea what is wrong!

He lost his touch!

OH?

He is clueless at the moment!

Dayummmm!

Hoping good!
