‌Mumbai beat Rajasthan by three wickets in their final Super League match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025-26 campaign in Pune on Tuesday. Sarfaraz Khan and Ajinkya Rahane smashed quickfire half-centuries to help their side to the target of 217 with 11 balls to spare.

Ahead of the mini auction, Sarfaraz went on a six-hitting spree, smashing seven maximums and six fours during his belligerent 73 in just 22 balls. Meanwhile, Rahane had seven fours and three sixes in his 41-ball 72, with Atharva Ankolekar coming up with an entertaining cameo of 26 off nine balls in the end.

Sarfaraz could not have timed his unbelievable knock better, as it came on the same day as the Indian Premier League mini auction, to be held in Abu Dhabi. The batter, who has registered himself, also thrashed talks about fitness concerns, which have kept him out of the Indian Test setup in the recent home season.

The 28-year-old Mumbai batter reached his half-century in style, in just 15 balls, with back-to-back slogswept sixes off leg-spinner Rahul Chahar in the ninth over before pulling out an impromptu celebration. He went to the non-striker’s end and did pushups before waving his bat to the Mumbai dressing room. With that win, Mumbai went second in the Super League with eight points from two wins from their three games.
