IND vs BAN | Ashwin reigns supreme at home to steamroll Bangladesh and gain series lead
India beat Bangladesh comfortably by 280 runs in Chennai to gain 1-0 lead. Shakib Al Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto showed grit against the ruthless spell of Mohammed Siraj before falling to the spinners like nine pins highlighted by a Ravichandran Ashwin six-fer at his home in Chennai.
The overnight batters Shakib Al Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto were observative against Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah at the start. While there was no moisture, Siraj hit the deck from across the line angle to the southpaws and added spice with some chirp against a well-set Shanto. Although the Bangladeshi skipper handled the heat with calm and composed mind in Shakib’s presence for the first hour, the introduction of Ashwin on the fourth day.
The local boy induced the nick of the all-rounder in the 52nd over to end the 48-run fifth wicket stand. Litton Das followed suit after 18 balls as Jadeja struck from the other end before Bangladesh lost the next three wickets in the next five overs including recognized batters Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. With the visitors at 233/9, it was just a matter of time before Jadeja cleaned up Hasan Mahmud to hand India a 1-0 lead in the series with a win margin of 280 runs.LOL!!

Congratulations Team India 🇮🇳 🎉
Did it twice
Ashwin becomes the first player in Tests to score a century & take a five-fer at the same venue twice - both coming at his home ground at Chepauk (vs Eng 2021 & vs Ban 2024).

Ashwin anna supremacy🔥

Beauty
Ravindra Jadeja bowled a beauty, luring Shakib out of his crease, but Test king Rishabh Pant couldn’t even collect the ball, let alone stump him. If this were , the media would’ve torn him apart. But since it's Pant, no outrage—pure hypocrisy.

Home boy things
Might be the last 5fer at Chepauk fittingly Jadeja grabs the catch and the crowd stands up for the home boy, Kohli with a cheeky hats off to Ashwin and a few dance steps an absolute theatrical experience, Chepauk you beauty.

No stone unturned
Shakib Al Hasan is leaving no stone unturned in his efforts to address his eye issues. ✅

Today he was (still) spotted biting down on a black strap while batting.
From each end
Ashwin against left-handed and Jadeja against right-handed batsmen. A wicket from each end and India needs just 4 wickets to win this match.
