Trying to make the most out of the overhead conditions, Bangladesh’s decision to field first worked well in their favor. Trying to extend the innings deep, Rahul looked scratchy in his play before following Yashasvi Jaiswal back to the hut halfway through the second session and adding to India’s injuries.

The second ball of the 43rd over saw Mehidy Hasan Miraz bowl a flighted fuller delivery at the middle stump line that turned into the right-hander. Rahul tried to clip it past short leg region but the ball came off the inside half towards the close-in fielder. Zakir Hasan there swerved to his right and grabbed the ball with firm hands, adding to the tally of India’s tally of wickets. With six wickets down and following suit Jaiswal in a space of four balls, Rahul was seen dejected, and so were the fans at the venue and the Twitterverse.
