Reports | Rahul Dravid rejoins Rajasthan Royals as Head Coach for IPL 2025

Former Indian Cricketer and head coach Rahul Dravid is all set to return to Rajasthan Royals for the 18th version of the Indian Premier League. According to ESPNCricinfo, the India legend recently secured a contract with the franchise and took part in discussions regarding player retention.

‌According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, Dravid will take on the role of head coach, while former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara will remain as the team's director.

Dravid's most recent stint with RR was as a mentor during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He assumed the role of captain in the 2012 IPL season, succeeding Shane Warne. Although his debut season as captain concluded with RR finishing 7th place, he guided the team to the playoffs in 2014.

According to the report, the 2008 champions is expected to bring on former India batter Vikram Rathour as one of Dravid's assistant coaches. Rathour has previously served as an India selector and was a member of Dravid's coaching staff at the National Cricket Academy (NCA)  before becoming India's batting coach in 2019.

Dravid's career with the BCCI included roles as head coach for India's U-19 and A teams. He later served as the director of the NCA before being appointed head coach of the Indian senior team in 2021. He concluded his tenure as India's coach on a high, guiding the team to their second T20 World Cup title.
