Bangladesh made history after defeating Pakistan by six wickets and whitewashing Pakistan at home. The visitors excelled in the first innings, thanks to a heroic century from Litton Das while Pakistan was dismissed for just 172 runs leaving the Tigers with a target of 185 runs, achieved with ease.

‌Bangladesh batter walked into bat aiming for a series whitewash as overnight batters Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam took to the crease. However, Mir Hamza quickly broke the opening stand by dismissing Zakir Hasan. The Pakistan pacers looked in great control with Mohammad Ali's three consecutive maidens leaving the Bangladesh batter worrying.  Khurram Shehzad earned its rewards with the wicket of Shadman Islam. With the scorecard at 85/2 in 21 overs, the visitors needed 100 more runs. With Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque at the crease, Bangladesh tallied at 122/2 in 34 overs at lunch.

Post lunch, Salman Agha was quick enough to get rid of the Bangladesh skipper who departed scoring 38 off 32. Shan Masood was becoming more active as a captain as he added a slip, leg slip, and a short leg to pressurize the Bangladesh batters. But the duo of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul kept the scorecard ticking, bringing down the equation to 35 runs. As things looked clear for the Tigers, Abrar Ahmed outsmarted Mominal, courtesy of the latter’s poor shot selection, holing out to mid-off. Eventually, Shakib Al Hasan entered the fray and kept milking their way with Mushfiqur Rahim to inch near the finishing line. The southpaw didn’t hesitate to fancy lofted strokes and eventually, brought the equation down to twelve needed by the 52nd over. After a lengthy and intense chase, Bangladesh's winning runs were secured by Shakib Al Hasan, who hit a four in the 56th over. This boundary led Bangladesh to victory by six wickets, marking a historic series win and boosting Bangladesh’s position on the WTC points table.
