PAK vs ENG | Harry Brook’s heroics and Joe Root’s class propel England to a dominant victory over Pakistan
England beat Pakistan by an innings and 47 runs and went up 1-0 in the Test match series. The Pakistan side managed to put up a 550-plus total with centuries from Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood, but Harry Brook’s triple ton and Joe Root’s double century managed to seal the deal for England.
England was just three wickets away from victory when Salman fell, followed by Shaheen Shah Afridi, leaving Pakistan in a tough spot. Naseem Shah was also dismissed, and with Abrar Ahmed unable to bat due to illness, England secured their win by an innings and 47 runs. This match marked Pakistan's sixth straight loss in Test cricket and their seventh defeat at home in their last nine Tests.

SHUT UP & GET LOST.
Jamal stands out
Feels nice to see an instinct come good. When I worked on two Australia-Pakistan tests last year, the two stand out characters for me were Salman Agha and Aamer Jamal. When Pakistan do rebuild eventually on an attitude first platform, those two and Naseem Shah will be at the core

Masterclass
Salman Agha and Aamer Jamal showed the Pakistan top order how to bat on this track.

- These two quality players have consistently stood up with the bat when Pakistan needs them.
Keep fighting
Fighting fifty from Aamer Jamal

Unbeaten
Aamer Jamal remained unbeaten on 55 in the end, but his first Test on home soil was one to forget.
