WATCH | Marnus Labuschagne bowls rare seam-up and produces peach in County Championship
A cricket field can often turn into an unexpected stage of proceedings. Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne certainly took things under his control as he surprisingly bowled medium pace and removed one of the Gloucestershire tailenders in the ongoing round of the County Championship.
Winning the toss and electing to field first under bowling-friendly conditions was fruitful for Glamorgan. Timm van der Gugten spit venom with the new ball as he masterfully wreaked havoc in the opposition's batting order. His five-wicket haul was well succored by Dan Douthwaite and Marnus Labuschagne who stunned everyone with surreal seam bowling on Day one of the Test.
The fall of Miles Hammond in the 27th over led to the arrival of Zaman Akhter whose stay was limited to just seven deliveries. Marnus came over the wicket and bowled a good length delivery that angled in and swirled away from the batter nicking the outside edge enroute to the keeper. Akhter did not expect such swing from the part-time bowler and ended up playing inside the line. Eventually, Marnus was seen ecstatic after producing a peach, leaving the Twitterverse in awe of his caliber.
What a jaffa!
