PAK vs CAN | Twitter reacts to charged-up Amir kicks air in jubilation after rattling middle stump
Adrenaline rush often leads to flux of emotions, and it’s pretty common in a game of cricket. Pakistan’s Mohammad Amir was carried away after cleaning up Navneet Dhaliwal, courtesy of a well-planned setup as Pakistan and Canada squared off against one another in a Group A clash in New York.
Shaheen Afridi tried too much to draw the first breakthrough in the first over after Babar Azam decided to field first during the toss. However, the left-arm quick conceded 15 runs leading up to Canada’s 20 runs score in two overs before Mohammad Amir miraculously set up Dhaliwal to castle his stump in the third over.
After a couple of good length delivery that held the line from over the wicket and whiskered past the batter’s outside edge, Amir bowled a fuller one that Dhaliwal managed to dig just in time. Keeping the opener guessing, the left-arm quick dished the white rock on a good length with a similar angle and jagged back into the right-hander to thud the top of the middle stump. The batter was late to react against the late movement of the ball and got beaten on the inside edge, leaving the bowler in ecstasy. Amir seemed charged up and sprinted around with a gesture of kicking the air as the Dhaliwal strolled off the field, thereby handing the Twitterverse with a topic to buzz around.
