The primary objective for a bowler is to take wickets, but their quick reflexes can also contribute to their overall fitness, which in turn helps them achieve that goal. Such was the case with Sompal Kimi of Nepal when his quick reflex resulted in Sybrand Engelbrecht’s unfortunate dismissal.

‌Chasing 106 runs, The Netherlands got off to a shaky start, losing Michael Levitt in the second over. However, Vikramjit Singh and Max O'Dowd steadied the innings with a 33-run partnership, taking the score to 36/1 by the end of the powerplay. However, Singh's departure in the ninth over boosted Nepal’s confidence. Nepal’s happiness continued when Sybrand Engelbrecht departed in the 14th over due to an unfortunate run-out.

Nepal's joy only continued to grow as the 14th oversaw the untimely run-out of Sybrand Engelbrecht. On the first ball of that over, O'Dowd unleashed a powerful straight drive off the bowling of Sompal Kami. The shot was perfectly timed, the ball ripping off the bat at a blistering pace. But in a remarkable display of athleticism and quick reflexes, Kami managed to get his fingers to the ball, deflecting it onto the stumps at the non-striker's end just as Engelbrecht was attempting to scamper through for a single. The deflection caught Engelbrecht short of his ground, and the on-field umpire had no choice but to refer the decision to the TV umpire. Replays confirmed Kami's incredible intervention, with the Nepalese players erupting in wild celebrations at the loss of this crucial Dutch wicket.

The Twitterverse was similarly abuzz with praise for Kami's exceptional piece of fielding
