‌IND-W vs PAK-W | Twitter laughs as Iram Javed carries Pakistan's age-old legacy with terrible fielding mishap

It’s always challenging to be calm and composed under pressure, something that the Pakistan unit missed out on against India in the second game of the 2024 Asia Cup. The nevousness was vividly spotted in Iram Javed’s body language who miscued a regulation fielding attempt in the deep.

The decision to bat first after winning the toss did not fare well for Pakistan and they kept losing wickets from the start of the game. 31 runs for the seventh wicket was the highest partnership as a collective bowling effort bundled them out for 108. In reply, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma got off to a brilliant start, and their respective forties set up for a comfortable chase for India. Pakistan lacked lustre with the bat and ball while their fielding efforts only added to the woes, as was the case in the 13th over.

With the scorecard reading 86/1 halfway through the innings, Nashra Sindhu was summoned by the Women in Green to produce breakthroughs. Although she started with a dot ball, Dayalan Hemalatha took on a length delivery immediately after by pulling it towards deep backward square leg where the boundary rider Iram Javed failed to judge the sudden turn of the ball. As the white cherry bounced in front of the fielder, it spun away thereby dragging the fielder onto the wrong trajectory before racing to the ropes. The Twitterverse was quick to draw comparisons of the incident with Pakistan’s age-old tradition of fielding mishaps.

Moye moye!

Same same but different!

Hahahaha!

As usual!

That's class bruh!

That sounds so close!
