Men’s Hundred | Dan Mousley's three-wicket haul in the final set leads Birmingham Phoenix to a thrilling victory
Birmingham Phoenix secured a six-run victory over Trent Rockets at Trent Bridge. Key contributions from Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell helped the Phoenix reach 138/6 before Alex Hales and Joe Root’s stand went in vain as Dan Mousley's excellent death bowling clinched the win for the Phoenix.
Trent Rockets began steadily with Tom Banton and Alex Hales scoring 9/0 in 10 deliveries. However, Adam Milne broke the opening stand, removing Banton on the 13th delivery. But Joe Root counter-attacked, hitting Sean Abbott for two sixes and a four pushing the score to 45/1 after 30 balls. Root's aggressive 54-run partnership with Hales ended when Benny Howell dismissed him. Hales’ 38 off 30 balls kept the Rockets in contention, reaching 89/2 after 12 sets. With 43 needed off the last 30 deliveries, Rovman Powell's quick runs brought the equation down to 21 off 16. But things took a different turn when Tim Southee dismissed Powell, and a run-out by Milne removed Sam Hain. Additionally, Dan Mousley's late surge took three crucial wickets, including Gregory and Rashid Khan sealing a thrilling six-run win for Phoenix.

Big platforms are waiting
Over the past 3 years, I've seen a lot of Jacob Bethell. Watched him play the finisher role for Warwickshire in T20s to great effect. He's always been a gun player. Pleased to see him getting his flowers on a big platform. Though one feels, even bigger platforms are to come...

Good prospect
This Jacob bethel looks a good prospect, his team's (Birmingham's) battting is trash but he played well in pressure after collapse
