Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming has said that Ambati Rayudu’s tweet of IPL 2022 being his last was a little bit of a storm in a teacup and it is not a big issue. Taking on Twitter, Rayudu announced on Saturday that IPL 2022 would be his last tournament but deleted it an hour later.

Ambati Rayudu caused a stir in the cricketing world as he announced on Twitter on Saturday that he will be retiring after the IPL 2022. The development caused shockwaves among the cricket fraternity. However, an hour later Rayudu deleted the tweet and CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan clarified that Rayudu will remain with the franchise and will not be retiring.

CSK coach Stephen Fleming has shared his views regarding the issue saying that it was a little bit of storm in a teacup but there is not much about the issue and it is a non-story.

"It was not disappointing, it was probably a little bit of a storm in a teacup, to be honest. But, I think he was fine. It has not changed anything in the camp but it is a non-story," Fleming said while answering a query from NDTV during a virtual post-match press conference.

Rayudu was picked by CSK in the mega auction for a price of Rs 6.75 Crore. In the 12 games he has played so far, Rayudu has scored 271 runs at 27.10. He will play a vital part for CSK as a middle-order batter in the remaining games and the team might also stick with him for the next season as well.
