England Lions crumble in haste as India A bowlers come good
England Lions had a miserable first innings as they were bundled out for 144 and were forced to follow-on against the formidable India A bowling attack. Despite bowling out the India A batsmen for 392 early on Day 2, England Lions failed to capitalize and paid the price for playing in a haste.

Karun Nair had played a ball going outside leg stump, as Ollie Pope took a simple catch behind the stumps to give the Lions their first breakthrough for the day. Thereafter, the middle order and the tail fell like a pack of cards to the pace of Chappell and the spin of Danny Briggs ( 3 for 71 ) despite poor fielding efforts and dropped chances.
However, the England Lions were in no position to take control of the game as their batting collapse lead to a follow on. India A bowlers held their heads high, bowled in tandem and great rhythm to cruise through the England Lions line up. Ollie Pope top scored with 25 without any other major contributions from the other batsmen.
